Meet the author:

Ogochukwu Ezeoke

Resident

Born in Lagos, Nigeria, Ogochukwu immigrated with her family at the age of 15 to the United States. She completed her undergraduate education in Cell and Molecular Biology at SUNY Binghamton in 2011, and then accepted a position as a Research Study Assistant at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. While working at Sloan Kettering, Ogochukwu was able to explore her interest in medicine. She attributes a significant part of her aspiration to enter the field of medicine to the incredible mentorship she received at Sloan Kettering, from the medical oncologists she worked with. In the fall of 2015, Ogochukwu started medical school at SUNY Upstate Medical University. Graduating in 2019, she began her residency in Pediatrics at Northwestern McGaw/Ann & Robert H Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. With an interest in pediatric cardiology and cardio-oncology research, as well as tackling health outcome disparities, it is her hope to play an active role in the development of health equity protocols, particularly within the field of Pediatric Cardiology.
