Nia Carty

Med Student

Nia Carty was born and raised in Piscataway, NJ, and graduated from Rutgers University with a major in biological sciences, and a minor in Spanish. Her desire to provide quality healthcare to underserved communities motivated her to move across the country to attend the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California. She is now a fourth-year medical student applying into Family Medicine, and was recently inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society for her consistent and exemplary delivery of humanistic clinical care, leadership, compassion, and dedication to service. Outside of medicine, Nia is an avid writer, and is co-illustrator of a published children’s book series entitled “The Adventures of Puff & Curl.” She also enjoys volleyball, kickboxing, and incorporating meditation and mindfulness into her daily routine.
