Lauren Sargeant

Lauren Sargeant is a second-year medical student at the Carle Illinois College of Medicine at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She was born and raised in the Chicago suburbs, earned her bachelor’s degree in bioengineering from UIUC, and then began her career working in Wisconsin. After holding jobs in healthcare IT and medical devices, Lauren pivoted to pursuing a career as a physician. Her medical interests include Oncology and Obstetrics & Gynecology. She is passionate about population health, women’s health, and health policy and intends to pursue a career in academic medicine. Outside of school, she enjoys traveling, quilting, water sports, and spending time with her dog, Ellie.
