Kevin Matthews
Med Student
Kevin is currently an MS2 and president of the Class of 2028 at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. He previously served for eight years as a hospital corpsman in the United States Navy, including serving as senior line corpsman for the Scout Sniper Platoon, Weapons Company, 1st Battalion, 4th Marines. In that role, he deployed with the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit to Africa and the Middle East. He was later selected as a Combat Trauma Management and Valkyrie Emergency Fresh Whole Blood Transfusion instructor at the Navy Education and Training Office, 1st Marine Division, where he oversaw training for medical personnel attached to Marine Corps expeditionary ground forces.
Kevin holds a BA in History from UC San Diego, MS in Biology from George Mason University, and previously worked as an EMT-B and Ocean Lifeguard for San Diego Fire-Rescue Department. Outside of school, he loves surfing, hiking, working out, and eating pasta.
